Interesting topic re steroids and owners. We don't talk enough about how the steroid era benefitted the owners. The HRs and power battles brought in fans. The owners rode the wave until reporters started shining a light on it and didn't let up. A lot of fans, myself included, got fed up with it all. I think the bottom line is that owners are always going to act in their best self interest, as will the players. Which is why we need leadership in MLB that cares at least somewhat about the group caught in the middle., i.e., the fans.
