Scherzer easily could have two perfect games. The only base runner in his 10/3/2015 no-hitter against the Mets came on a throwing error in the 7th, and his no-hitter against the Pirates on 6/20/2015 was lost with two outs in 9th when Jose Tabida let a pitch hit him
Lots of conversation starters today: Regarding free-agents-to-be shortstops, one of the "among others -- Trea Turner -- is arguably better than all the guys named. As Nats' fan, I don't buy that the team is trying to escape the cellar. They're a sure bet to lose at least 100. Signing Cruz is simply a way to protect Juan Soto (and maybe persuade him to sign), then deal Cruz at the deadline for prospects. Anibal Sanchez, Tyler Clippard and Sean Doolittle make little sense for a rebuild, nor do the aging mediocre infielders.

A couple of inches difference on McCovey's liner and poor Terry would have been a goat again in '62.
