I'm all for requiring two infielders on each side of second, but the devil's in the details. The rules shouldn't ban an infielder being a step or two onto the grass, or limit how close the middle infielders want to get to 2nd base -- they've always had freedom to do that. But the 2nd baseman playing 20 feet or more in right field? Absolutely not.
