. . . In Game One, 1907 World Series, Tigers catcher Charley Schmidt dropped a two-out, third strike from Hall of Famer Wild Bill Donovan to Cubs pinch hitter Del Howard. The Cubs went on to tie the game but it was called for darkness after twelve innings. The Cubs went on to win the next four games and thus the Series.
